A MAJOR south coast pop artist is set to perform at a Southampton Festival.

Conor Maynard, dubbed the "British Justin Bieber", will perform at Southampton’s FestivAll this July 2017 in Mayflower Park.

The 24 year old ‘R U Crazy’ singer has had over five top ten UK singles including Turn Around his debut single Can’t Say No, while his 2012 album ‘Contrast’ hit number one in the UK album charts after selling 17,000 copies in its first week of sales.

Festival co-organiser Rich Gilbert said: “We are very pleased to be bringing Conor Maynard to the city, who will contribute to making Southampton’s biggest one-day event a success.”

The Brighton-born pop star has millions of fans after originally finding fame in 2009 after American singer Ne-Yo spotted the teenager's talent when he posted cover videos of himself singing popular tracks on YouTube.

Conor will join the likes of Alisha Dixon and the Hoosiers at the one-day festival on Saturday, July 29th will facilitate a wide range of music from a diverse range of some of the city’s biggest household names and some of the city’s best unsigned acts for all ages to enjoy.

There will also be a comedy tent with Tom Deacon and Stewart Francis set to perform.
