POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in a Hampshire house.
Officers rushed to a home in Birch Court, Stanmore after a member of the public discovered a man's body at 5.31pm on Wednesday and detectives have confirmed that the incident is being treated as suspicious.
They have identified the dead man as Carl Scott, 37, of Stanmore, and say a forensic post-mortem is being carried out.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Morgan said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and we are following various lines of enquiry to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.
“In particular, we are trying to build up a picture of Mr Scott’s lifestyle and movements.
“Therefore I would appeal for anyone who knew Mr Scott and had contact with him since February 1 this year to contact us. You may hold information that could be vital to our investigation.
“A cordon at the address will remain in place for the next few days while we carry out further enquiries.
“I would like to thank local residents for their patience while this takes place.”
