FIREFIGHTERS are battling a fire at Copythorne in the New Forest.
An area of bracken and woodland of around 200 square metres is affected off Barrow Hill Road.
Around 25 firefighters are fighting the flames after the alarm was raised at 3.30pm.
Crews from Redbridge, Eastleigh and St Mary’s are using hoses and beaters.
Dave Turner, incident commander said: "With fires like this the best tactic is to get a lot of appliances here quickly to help tackle it, which is exactly what we've done.
"The area covers 1,000 square metres with low level gorse and foliage alight. We had four pumps on scene trying to manage the water supply as it's a rural area.
"The fire was put out using hose reels, jets and napsack pumps at around 4.45pm. We'll keep a pump on scene to wipe down the area."
There is not believed to be any danger to property.
