ENTHUSIASTS are celebrating the launch of a new comic book about one of Hampshire’s forgotten heroes.
Blood & Valour, which is full of tales about Southampton’s legendary knight, Sir Bevis of Hampton, was the subject of a special event at Tec Hub Eastleigh.
Produced by Eastleigh Borough Council the medieval fantasy comic is billed as a story of love and loss, bravery and betrayal, honour and sacrifices.
The central character is a boy who must overcome huge challenges before moving out into the world to seek his destiny.
Blood & Valour is a collaboration between writer Matt Beames and illustrator Marcus Pullen, with cover illustrations and splash pages by artist Guy Stauber, who has previously worked with Marvel and DC Comics.
The launch was an opportunity for people to meet the team behind the comic and put questions to them in a Q&A session.
Signed copies of Blood & Valour Volume 1 were available to purchase, along with limited edition merchandise. The evening also featured a dramatic reading of the first nine pages of the comic, complete with epic music to set the scene.
