FUNDRAISERS celebrated the success of a Southampton charity shop which has received thousands of donations.

Barnardo’s opened the new store on Somerset Avenue in Harefield last March. Since then the charity has received more than 3,600 bags of clothing, accessories, homeware, books, toys and games. Barnardo’s has also been supported by a group of hardworking volunteers who have contributed more than 250 hours to help with sorting the stock and serving the customers.Ibolya Buzogany, Branch Retail Manager, said: “We have an amazing team of 4 volunteers aged from their 30s to their 80s who offer so much of their own time each week. The local community’s support is in turn helping vulnerable children.

The Harefield store is open Monday to Saturday from 9am-5.00pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm.

Barnardo’s also manages stores in Shirley, Bitterne Park, Bitterne Village, Totton and Townhill Way, West End.

Last year 248,000 children, young people and families were supported by the charity through more than 996 services across the UK, such as young carers, care leavers, foster carers and adoptive parents, training and skills or parenting classes.
