Two Southampton FC legends are set to visit a New Forest football club in a sold-out evening.

In an effort to raise funds for repairs and upgrades, Brockenhurst FC will host Francis Benali and Matt Le Tissier for a question and answer event on Friday (April 7).

The club is hoping to raise funds to upgrade their electricity and the pitch, having spent £30,000 on new floodlights, something which Benali also had a hand in raising funds for in August last year.

Club chairman Stan Reid said: “We’re hoping it will be a fantastic evening, we have already sold out; tickets went within a week. I have been inundated with calls from supporters asking for space, but for safety reasons, I just can’t fit anyone else in!

“We have sold out 120 tickets, and we’re also holding a raffle for a signed Burnley FC shirt. Matt Vokes’s brother Sam plays for Burnley, so we’re hoping to get a signed shirt in as well as a Swedish getaway weekend.”

Raffle tickets are still on sale, but Stan is hoping for a successful fundraising evening with the two legends.

He said: “I can’t believe how popular the evening is proving to be. They’re such great people, and we’re all excited to be able to welcome them down to the club.”

The two will also be opening a refurbished showroom at the club’s sponsor Meadens Skoda before the event.

Raffle tickets are priced at £1 and can be purchased from the club in person or through 01590 623 544.
