FIREFIGHTERS battled a fire at a thatched cottage near Romsey.
More than 30 firefighters were at the scene in Luzborough Lane.
They attempted to create a fire break in the thatch to prevent the flames from spreading.
It is thought the building was at a detached domestic cottage.

The alarm was raised at 6.15pm last night.
A fire service spokesman told the Daily Echo: "We are trying to create a firebreak. There is currently one hose reel in use. But these fires are very labour-intensive."
Eight pumps were been called in with crews attending from Romsey, Eastleigh, St Mary's, Redbridge and Hightown with a command unit from Cosham, as well as several support vehicles.
The police have closed both ends of Luzborough Lane between the two roundabouts.
