FAREHAM Town have tonight confirmed that manager Pete Stiles and his staff have agreed to stay on next season.

Stiles and his right-hand man Rudi Hall have made an amazing impact since taking the Cams Alders reins in January, guiding the Reds from the foot of the Sydenhams Premier Division to mid-table security.

Club secretary Paul Proctor hailed the “fantastic news,” adding: "Pete knows exactly what he wants and appreciates the issues, some of which are beyond our control.

“With Pete in charge for a full season, after the efforts since January where we have only lost three out of 15 games, who knows what next season will bring?”

Blackfield & Langley hit back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in an eventful Sydenhams Premier showdown at Newport IOW.

Handicapped by the first-half dismissal of centre-back Steve Walker, the third-placed Watersiders were twice stung by Connor Kelly in the 54th and 73rd minutes.

Newport then had a man sent off themselves, opening the door for Manny Soetan and skipper Sam Poole to bring Blackfield level.

Fifth-placed Alresford Town impressed in a comprehensive 5-1 win at Bashley.

Leading through Sam Burt and an own goal at the break, they surged 4-0 up through Scott Munro and Aaron Blaxall come the hour mark.

Harry McGrath pulled one back before Blaxall struck again for the Magpies in stoppage time to take his season’s tally to ten.

Andy Todd twice gave AFC Portchester the lead at Horndean, but the hosts hit back for a 3-2 victory through Ash Howes, Connor Duffin and Mark Smith.

Goals by John McKie and Fin Phillips put paid to ten-man Brockenhurst, beaten 2-0 at Cowes Sports.

It was the first game in charge for Cowes' caretaker boss Ian Potts following the departure of Richie Woodburn.

Team Solent’s trip to Bournemouth Poppies ended goalless.

The evening’s sole Sydenhams One fixture brought a 1-0 win for Romsey Town at US Portsmouth. Tom Donaldson grabbed the second-half decider for the Bypass boys.

In the National League South, the seven-point gap between fifth-placed Poole Town and sixth-placed Hungerford remains.

The sides drew 1-1 at Tatnam - Hungerford’s Matt Day snuffing out  Steve Devlin's penalty for the Dolphins.

Winchester City boss Craig Davis’s former club Fleet Town are the 2016/17 North Hants Senior Cup champions.

After a 0-0 draw, Fleet beat Tadley Calleva on penalties, buoyed by three inspirational saves by Ryan Pryce.

Caretaker boss Craig Martin, Davis's former assistant, tweeted afterwards: "Very proud to have continued the amazing work that Craig Davis put in at @FCFleetTown winning the North Hants Cup tonight #hestherealgaffa"
