Among the cases heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court were:

MARCIN ZUBOWICZ, 33, of Derby Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to three offences of stealing groceries valued at £54.40, £80.55 and £31.50 - all from Sainsbury’s. Six-month conditional discharge, compensation £100, victim services surcharge £20, costs £80.

NATHAN JOHN MAILER, 25, of Dempsey Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to failing without reasonable excuse to comply with a community order by failing to attend an office appointment. Fined £50, costs £50.

RICHARD HUTTER, 49, of Matchams Close, Ringwood. Pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on the A31 at Ringwood and assault by beating. Community order made with 150 hours of unpaid work, compensation £250, £150 costs, driving record endorsed with five penalty points.

DARREN FRANCIS SMITH, 22, of Brick Lane, Thorney Hill. Pleaded guilty to two offences of making off without payment. Community order made with 120 hours of unpaid work, compensation £139.73. Also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence. Driving record endorsed with six points. Also pleaded guilty to entering a building as a trespasser and stealing tools valued at £1,250. Community order made with 120 hours of unpaid work. Compensation £312.50.

ROBERT CHARLES MACKLIN, 33, of Rownhams Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Fined £54, victim services surcharge £30. Also pleaded guilty to second offence of assault by beating. Fined £54.

MARK COFFIN, 31, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to stealing goods valued at £29.59 from Co-op. Six-month conditional discharge, £29.59 compensation.

HAMEED BAIG, 18, of Howell Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol in his breath. Banned from driving for 12 months, fined £125, victim services surcharge £30, costs £50.

AARON SHAUN FOLAN, 34, of The Acorns, Bursledon. Pleaded guilty to stealing goods valued at £443.20 from Sainsbury’s at Hedge End and stealing toys valued at £400 from Asda. Community order made with 16-week curfew. Costs £50, victim services surcharge £85.

MATTHEW LIAM BRACKSTONE, 21, of Livingstone Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Community order made with 60 hours of unpaid work, compensation £100, victim services surcharge, £85, costs £15.

ANTHONY JOHN CROSS, 52, of The Acorns, Bursledon. Pleaded guilty to stealing goods valued at £309.70 from Marks and Spencer at Hedge End. Twelve-month conditional discharge, victim services surcharge £20, costs £20.

KELVIN IAN HUNT, 28, of Downs Park Avenue, Totton. Pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol, value unknown, from Asda in Totton. Compensation £50, victim services surcharge £20, costs £50.

LISA LOUISE PARFITT, 37, of Millbrook Road East, Southampton. Admitted stealing 38 polo shirts at WestQuay to value of £950. Community order with drug rehabilitation requirement. Ordered to pay £300 compensation and £85 costs.

EMMA LOUISE MCINDOE, 26, of Andrew Lane, Ashley. Admitted four counts of shoplifting in New Milton area, with total value of £152.15. Community order for rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 15 days, ordered to £152.15 compensation and costs of £40.

NICHOLAS COLLIN, 38, of Legion Close, Bassett, Southampton. Admitted assaulting Katharine Jane Collin. Jailed for two months suspended for 24 months, drug rehabilitation requirement, ordered to pay £150 compensation, £85 costs and restraining order not to contact victim or enter Kingsley Gardens, Totton.

JAMES LEE LEWIS, 38, of cranberry Road, Eastleigh. Pleaded guilty to assaults x2 of Crystal Downes, at Eastleigh railway station and on train between Eastleigh and Winchester. Community order for 100 hours unpaid work, rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 15 days, ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
