A GUARDSMAN from Hampshire died of natural causes after collapsing, an inquest heard.
Lance Corporal Bradley Davis, 23, died at Southampton General Hospital days after he collapsed at HMS Nelson in Portsmouth on September 8.
Winchester Coroner’s Court heard the guardsman died of a brain haemorrhage five days later.
The inquest heard that despite the best efforts of doctors who tried to carry out a cerebral artery dissection, his brain continued to swell and he died.
Senior Hampshire coroner, Grahame Short, recorded a verdict of death due to natural causes.
