Saints supporters turned a Hampshire crematorium into a sea of red and white today as they said an emotional farewell to fellow fan Jason Tizzard.

Jason, 48, of Sholing, Southampton, was on a shopping trip with his sister, Alison Wells, last month when he suffered a fatal heart attack in a Woolston store.

His family are bidding to raise enough money to buy a defibrillator device for Woolston in a bid to prevent any similar tragedies in the future.

Many of Jason's friends and family were wearing Saints shirts when they arrived for his funeral at the Wessex Vale Crematorium in West End.

David Adcock, who conducted the service, added: "Many people want to live a long life but there's something to be said for leaving this world when you are really happy and content with what you have achieved. Jason is one of those people."

Jason's coffin was draped in a Saints flag and one of the floral tributes was in the shape of a football.

Jason's brother-in-law, David Wells, shared his memories of Jason and, turning towards the coffin, said: "I love your dearly. We will march on."

'When The Saints Go Marching In' was played as the service drew to a close.
