THEY were supposed to be friends.

But when mum-to-be Elouise Anne Sullivan discovered two of her friends had slept with her long-term boyfriend she embarked on a campaign of chilling threats and abuse against them.

The 20-year-old was so upset at the betrayal of her friends she sent a catalogue of threatening, obscene and menacing messages over four months.

She even sent a text message to one of the women saying: “I will grab your head from behind and make sure you see my face before I jump so hard on your face you will have blood coming out your eyeballs.”

Seven-months-pregnant Sullivan started sending the messages when she discovered the two women had both slept with her partner of eight years, who is also the father of her soon-to-be-born baby.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard that former Itchen College student Sullivan also sent one of the women, who is mixed race, a picture of some bananas, making reference to the colour of her skin, with a message that said: “You can’t get anyone else because you are a dirty, smelly monkey.”

The court was told the victim had said the racist messages had made her feel different to everyone else when she was not.

Magistrates were also told about some of the vile language used in the messages, which insinuated the pair were prostitutes and lewd or promiscuous women.

Prosecuting, Charles Nightingale said Sullivan, of Camborne Close, Bishopstoke, also sent threats that she would “smack up” one of the girls at college and kept messaging her saying “where are you”.

He added one of the women had been left shaking after reading some of the messages, which had made her feel unsafe and anxious to go out.

Mr Nightingale said both victims just wanted to be left alone and for it all to stop.

The court heard Sullivan, who has past convictions for robbery and assault, had been given a number of warnings by police that she must stop sending messages to the women but she ignored them.

Magistrates were told Sullivan had been more upset by her friend’s betrayal than her boyfriend’s, because she had trusted them while she had not trusted her boyfriend.

Sullivan pleaded guilty to two counts sending offensive, indecent, obscene and menacing messages between September 1, 2016 and January 14, 2017.

The court heard the defendant knew she had done wrong and had dealt with her anger in the wrong way.

Sullivan’s case has been adjourned for a pre-sentencing report. She will next appear before the court on April 19.
