HUNDREDS took part in several Easter activities across Hampshire at the weekend.

Residents could enjoy music, craft activities and face-painting at several venues across Southampton, Eastleigh and the New Forest.

Youngsters were treated with a giant Easter egg at the Swan Centre in Eastleigh on Good Friday. They enjoyed story-time sessions held inside a giant inflatable egg and posed for funny photos.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, families took their children to Hanger Farm in Totton to take part in craft activities and enjoy stories in the theatre.

On the same day, hundreds attended the family Easter festival in Woolston were live music entertained participants and celebrated the opening of the new Mettricks coffee shop at the Centenary Plaza.

During the day several groups performed, including Southampton Ukulele Jam, Honey and Bee and Junco Shakers.

Spencer Bowman, 30, founder of Mettricks, said: “It’s absolutely incredible the warm welcome we received from Woolston.

“We’ve had an incredible community feeling.”
