THEY are two of the strongest men in the world.

Now they are to show their strength in an exhibition in Southampton, ahead of what it is expected to be the biggest strength event in the south.

Southampton strongman Aaron Page and the four time world’s strongest man Zydrunas Savickas, better known as Big Z, are to flip tyres in Guildhall Square on Thursday from 12.30pm.

The exhibition will launch the Ultimate Strongman World Series UK qualifier, at St Mary’s Stadium on June 10.

In preparation of the summer event Aaron and Big Z will meet fans and perform in one of the toughest tests of full body strength.

The 27-year-old gym coach at Southampton-based Winning Health Solutions, said: “Next week I will be showcasing my favourite event, the tyre flip, in the city centre, and I hope fans come along to witness me taking on the legend ‘Big Z’.

“It is fantastic news that Ultimate Strongman are bringing their World Series event to Southampton this summer. I will be competing against some of the best strength athletes in the world, and I can’t wait to take part.”

The summer event will see some of the biggest strength stars in the world coming to Southampton. They will perform in the giant tyre flip, log press world record challenge, farmers walk, car deadlift for reps and the atlas stones.

The first man to break the log press world record - set by Big Z himself in 2015 at a whopping 228Kg- will win £5,000.

Tickets for Summermania at St Mary’s costs £25 for adults and £15 for juniors and can be bought by visiting www.eventbrite.co.uk.
