It's another generous donation from one Hampshire business.

Staff at Chilcomb Wealth in Winchester have given £1,000 to our #MatchMyMoney campaign.

The cash will go straight into a pot to help build a new state of the art children's A&E at Southampton General Hospital, treating 30,000 youngsters a year from across the south when it opens in 2018.

That £1k will be doubled by the Barker-Mill Foundation and doubled again by central government.

Speaking on behalf of the financial planning company, director Peter O'Sullivan said: "We have known the Barker-Mill Foundation for a number of years and work closely with them as advisers.

"As a Winchester-based business we are very much aware of the activities that they get involved with and the support that they give to local causes.

"The funding match that the foundation will provide, as well as the support from the government, means that a donation would be very well put to use by a wonderful cause and we were delighted to support it.

"Southampton hospital is a centre of excellence in a number of areas and helping to build the new facility can only add to that reputation and help many children and their families in the future."

As previously reported, the initiative is the brainchild of celebrity acting couple Sarah Parish and James Murray, who set up a foundation in memory of their daughter Ella-Jayne after she died in 2009.

The new unit will cost £4.8 million.
