A HUNT has been launched for an alleged car thief and drink driver after a crash on a Hampshire motorway.
Andris Romanovs, 29, is wanted by police following the collision on the M3 near Winchester on Christmas Day.
At about 8.15am on the southbound carriageway a silver Mercedes hit the central reservation and Romanovs, from Northamptonshire, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and drink driving.
He was bailed until February 16 but has so far failed to answer to police.
He is described as being white, about five feet five inches tall, and speaks with a Latvian accent.
Officers say he has strong links with the Winchester and Northampton areas.
PC Victoria Squire said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries since this date to locate him but are now turning to the public for help to find him.
“We have serious concerns about his driving and are keen to ensure he poses no further risk on our roads.
“Have you seen him? Do you know where he is? Please get in touch if you do.”
