A GLOBAL beauty brand is set to open a new store in Southampton.

Westquay announced the decision by Lush to open a new branch in the shopping following the company’s success in the city.

The chain opened its first Southampton branch at 12 East Bargate Street, near the iconic landmark, back in 2000.

Andy Collyer, general manager at Westquay, said: “We are delighted to be at the forefront of LUSH’s expansion plans within Southampton, welcoming them to our strong repertoire of stores here at Westquay.

“We always try to listen to our customer’s needs, and welcoming LUSH will continue our ever growing partnerships with the natural cosmetics retail industry.”

Famous for their innovative products such as the fizzy bath bombs, shower jellies and shampoo bars, the upcoming LUSH store also plans to sell its full range of all natural, hand-made and 100 per cent vegetarian beauty products, including vibrant and aromatic cosmetics, creams, gels, scrubs, moisturisers and more.

The cosmetics brand will be moving into the 270 square metre unit next to River Island and Superdry on the shopping centre’s third tier.

It was unclear how many new jobs will be created or the opening date.

The firm was founded in Poole in 1995 and has since launched branches around the world.
