ALMOST 6,000 people flocked to one of the biggest annual events staged at a Hampshire attraction.
All roads led to Beaulieu as bargain-hunters from across the south descended on the National Motor Museum for its 40th Boatjumble.
Held on a huge site behind historic Palace House, the eagerly anticipated event boasted more than 60 stands crammed with all things nautical.
Visitors had a chance to meet the Ocean Brothers, two Lymington men who are preparing to row across the Atlantic to raise £100,000 for the British Skin Foundation.
Greg Bailey and his half-brother, Jude Massey, are planning to make the 11-week voyage early next year in memory of Jude's father, Peter Massey, who died after a long battle against skin cancer.
Boatjumble also featured Trunk Traders, which comprised more than 100 enthusiasts driving into the show to sell unwanted spares and nautical knick-knacks from their car boots.
The show was sponsored by the magazine Practical Boat Owner (PBO), which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Maritime professionals supplied by PBO gave advice on a raft of subjects including sail trimming, effective anchoring, repairing fibreglass and diesel engine maintenance.
BHG Marine, which has just opened a new chandlery at nearby Buckler’s Hard, celebrated its 70th anniversary with a stand at the show.
