IT WAS full steam ahead as hundreds turned out for a popular railway exhibit in Fareham.

The Rotary Club of Fareham, in conjunction with Fareham College, held their fifth annual model railway exhibition Rotarail on Saturday..

Exhibitors showed off more than 20 different layouts of model railways from all over the world to rail enthusiast from all over the county, bringing a flavour of different rail operations and rolling stock from all over the world.

Rotarian Chris Thomas, the organiser of the event said: “It was a great day. A lot of people have been really surprised to see the detail of the models.

“They looked at them and said, ‘bloomin’ heck!’ – some of the layouts this year have been absolutely brilliant.”

All profits raised from the event will go to charity Flat Spaces that which provides purpose built holiday and respite accommodation for the less-abled, their careers and families.

Rotarail will return in 2018 on Saturday, April 28.
