THE work of Hampshire volunteers has been recognised.

Volunteers at Barnardo’s charity in Hedge End have been awarded certificates in recognition of their work and commitment.

The charity supports children, youngsters and families in needs.

Now the charity’s chief executive Javed Khan has recognised the work of 10 volunteers by visiting them in the Hedge End office last week.

He said: “It is a pleasure and privilege to meet some of our dedicated volunteers who are the life blood of the charity. Their reasons for volunteering are varied yet they all have the same passion and enthusiasm for supporting vulnerable children and young people across the UK, which must be applauded.”

Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have more than 60 helpers who have completed 2,300 hours of volunteering in the last year.
