MORE than 800 youngsters invaded Trojans for the club’s mini rugby tournament.
The event in 1995 was so popular it had to be split across two separate venues – the younger kids playing at the club in Stoneham Lane whilst the older age groups played at King Edward VI School’s ground at Wide Lane.
It was the first year the annual tournament had included the older age groups, effectively doubling the number of players.
Trojans matched their organisational success with victory on the field, winning five of the nine events.
