Police were called to a Southampton bridge last night to try and talk a young person down from the edge.
Firefighters, ambulances and police all raced to the incident on the Redbridge Flyover.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "It is a young person on a bridge who we're trying to talk off the edge.
"We were trying to help prevent anything further from happening."
The fire incident commander said: "We were called at 6.50pm to standby as support for the police and we are currently monitoring the situation."
Three people have been pictured speaking to police on the bridge that links Redbridge and Totton.
The incident was cleared shortly before 10pm.
