THE Green Party have announced their parliamentary candidates for the three Southampton constituencies, Eastleigh and Winchester.
Katherine Barbour is to fight Southampton Test.
Ms Barbour is involved in supporting those living with dementia through the Portswood Dementia Action Group and Denys Friendlies – a community drop-in at St Denys Church. She is also a campaigner on air pollution and is a member of the Love our Waterfront campaign.
Rosie Pearce contests Southampton Itchen. She recently graduated from the University of Southampton and works with The Forest Trust, an international environmental and social charity based in Southampton.
Ian Callaghan is the candidate in Romsey and Southampton North. He splits his working time between finance for international development and efforts to combat climate change. He is also the editor of a specialist blog studying how to raise the massive sums that will be needed to make the 2015 Paris Agreement a reality.
Andrew Wainwright has been selected in Winchester. A resident of the city for more than 20 years, he has recently been speaking out about air pollution, which is responsible for tens of thousands of premature deaths every year.
Electronics engineer Ron Meldrum is fighting Eastleigh.
In last five years Ron has stood as a Green Party candidate in the Southampton local elections.
He supports local communities, is an amateur musician (playing drums and piano), and is involved in running a music festival.
