Police have issued CCTV images of two woman they want to speak following an assault at a Hampshire shop.

At some time between 7pm and 8pm on May 8, two women entered the Co-op on Sandy Lane, Fair Oak.

A woman who was working in the shop challenged the pair when they attempted to steal items from the shop. The staff member was then hit in the face.

A member of the public challenged the women and took the goods from them.

The women then left the shop on foot and headed towards Sandy Lane.

One of the women is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 years, of slim build and approximately 5ft 2ins tall. She had dark hair tied up on her head. She was carrying a dirty brown hand bag.

The other woman is described as white, aged between 20 and 30 years, of slim build and approximately 5ft 5ins tall. She had red/ginger hair and was carrying an orange bag for life.

PC Jason Gore said: “The victim has been left very shaken by what has happened to her and was left with pain to her eye.”

“If anyone recognises either of the women in the pictures I would urge them to get in touch with us.”
