Police have launched a hunt for two dangerous motorcyclists who have been driving illegally around Southampton, putting residents at risk.

Two off-road motorbikes were spotted being ridden illegally across Mansel Park, off Kendal Avenue, just before 11am on Monday, when other people were using the park, including mums with pushchairs.

After the bikers spotted a PCSO, the road off but were seen again later in Millbrook and Coxford.

PC Simon Peacock said the bikes were seen numerous times around the Millbrook and Coxford area riding illegally and in a manner that was dangerous to themselves, other road users and pedestrians.

He added: “If you have seen these bikes or recognise any of the clothing in the images please contact me.

“If you are a family member and recognise these bikes or any of the clothing, I ask that you speak to me, confidentially if required.

“These riders are dangerous and have the potential to cause harm to innocent members of the public."

Councillor Keith Morrell, who represents Coxford, said: "The illegal motorcycling menaces are something we have been working with the police about, for some years.

"It is dangerous to all concerned - residents and the riders themselves. They are young lads that do not take the proper precautions for their own safely of for the safety of pedestrians.

"There was a recent death of a lad in Lordswood involving a motorcycle... This is a tragic example of how motorcycles can kill not just the person riding but someone that happens to get in the way.

"I don't think these young men appreciate how they are not immortal. It can have devastating consequences and is a nuisance to residents."
