A woman charged with attempted murder and possessing a bladed article has been remanded in custody until June 15.
Sarah-Jane Hall, 33, of Bourne Road, Southampton, is accused of attempting to murder Eden James with a kitchen knife.
The allegations relate to an incident at Blechynden Terrace, Southampton, on Tuesday, in which a 20-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed in the back.
During a 12-minute appearance at Southampton Magistrates Court Hall spoke only to give her name, address, and date of birth.
Her solicitor, David Adams, did not make an application for bail and Hall was remanded in custody. She will next appear at Winchester Crown Court.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "We would particularly like to hear from anyone who was in the Southbrook Road and Millbrook Road East areas between 12.15pm and 1pm on Tuesday 16 May.
"Please call 101 and quote 44170183647."
