EVERY year, locals gather in their droves in Romsey town centre to catch a glimpse of the passing Romsey Carnival.
Back in 1926 however, things were a little different.
Hundreds lined the pavements to see dozens of youngsters take part in the children’s carnival.
There was a procession strictly for kids, all donning their fancy dress costumes based on whacky themes.
Prizes were given to the children for having the best get-up in their category.
Some of the youngsters dressed as historical icons, whilst others decorated themselves and their bicycles with bunting.
