SUMMER looks like it's on its way and this weekend brings a packed events calendar.

So whether you're after food, drink, music or sunshine, there's sure to be something for you.

Here's what you can get up to:

1. Enjoy music and (hopefully) blazing sunshine at Common People. The annual festival is back on Saturday and Sunday and sees Pete Tong, Sean Paul and Faithless play on Southampton Common. Gates open at 10.30am each day.

2. Join in a jam-packed weekend of rowing and socialising at the Great Southampton Coal Row. There will a 28k event on Saturday and a 38k row on Sunday and organisers promise there will be waving, friendly faces, and lots of cheer. Coalporters Amateur Rowing Club is hosting the event.

3. Flex your muscles at a hot yoga class in Southampton. The workshop is described as "dynamic and high-energy" and is designed to develop flexibility, muscular strength, and agility. It will be held on Saturday from 9.30am until 10.45am at Harbour Lights picturehouse.

4. Celebrate the water at RiverFest 2017. The community event at Riverside Park is set to feature music, art, science, bikes, real beer, and family activities. There will be local bands and solo artists and entry is free. The festival runs from 10am until 9pm on Saturday.

5. Take your children to listen to music and partake in food and drink at Woolston Waterside Live. Artists including Johnny Boxcars, Ruby Blue & The Chain and Lucy Kitchen will perform at the event. It runs from 11am until 9pm on Saturday.

6. Bring your friends and a bottle of wine and get creative at the Uncorked Canvas. The painting classes will be held at Pavilion on the Park in Eastleigh on Saturday. Children and families are welcome and the event runs from 5pm until 8pm on Saturday.

7. Take some snail-themed selfies at Westquay. The giant and unusual creatures have appeared at the centre as part of the Snailed It exhibition. They are 2.4 metres tall and three metres long and will be in place until June 16.

8. Investigate the paranormal at a ghost adventure in Manor Farm Country Park. The event gives access to cottages, barns and a deconsecrated church and says it is "spine-tingling". It will be held at 8.30pm on Saturday.

9. Get your dancing shoes on at a soul and Motown evening at the Lion in Southampton. Music-lovers are invited along (and must be in smart dress) to boogie Saturday night away from 8pm until 1am.

10. Take in an exhibition of costumes and performance blending the culture and traditions of southern India, the Caribbean, and Hampshire. The event at Southampton City Art Gallery features colourful, eye-catching, costumes worn by performers through the years. It runs daily until August 19.
