FIREFIGHTERS battled a dramatic blaze involving a propane cylinder last night.

Crews from Fareham and Hightown rushed to a nursery and found the insides of the tents completely destroyed, with three jets and two hose reels used to extinguish the flames.

In total sixteen firefighters were called to the scene and found a large plume of smoke at Solent nurseries garden centre in Titchfield.

A propane cylinder was also found on fire, adding to the noise and smoke in the fire that covered an area of 50 metres by 25 metres.

No-one was hurt in the blaze, which fire crews took an hour-and-a-half to tackle from when they were called at 8.13pm last night.
