POLICE are hunting a masked knife-wielding robber who stole hundreds of pounds from a shop.

Elly’s Wine Store, in St Nicholas Avenue, Gosport, was targeted by the man at 9.35pm on Monday.

A member of staff was threatened with a knife as £300 was stolen from the till.

The man then bolted towards Dampier Close.

Nobody was injury in the incident.

Police say the slim-built white male is described as 5ft 8in, in his 30s and wearing a dark blue jacket, blue hooded top and a dark blue baseball cap. He was also wearing distinctive blue jeans with white patches on the back and a pair of black trainers with a thick white sole.

The man is also said to have a very distinctive walk with his feet slightly pointing outwards and his knees constantly bent.

A 28 year-old man from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to this investigation. He has been released from custody, but remains under investigation.
