A TESCO store was broken into in a Hampshire village.

Two thieves gained access to the Tesco Express Convenience Store in Springvale Road, Kings Worthy in the early hours of June 5 and stole three tills.

Police say that the two suspects arrived at the front door wearing grey track suits and black balaclavas covering their faces and forced entry into the glazed door with a tool, which is believed to be a crowbar.

Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious between 4.35am and 4.40am to come forward.

They are also urging people to be aware of anyone selling items that may have been stolen from the store.

The Daily Echo asked police for details of how much was stolen, but a spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said they could not reveal this due to operational reasons.

Police have also stepped up patrols in the area, anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 44170211894.
