AMONG the cases heard at Southampton Magistrates Court were:

BRIAN DANIEL YOUNG, 25, of Ballard Close, Millbrook, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to damaging a mobile phone to the value of £470. Young was fined £80 and ordered to pay compensation of £470.

STEPHEN RALPH, 33, of Millbrook Road West, Southampton. Indicated plea of guilty to carrying an offensive weapon, namely a knuckle duster. Ralph was committed to prison for six months, and was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.

STEPHEN LESLIE MILLS, 40, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to trespassing, possession of a class B drug and stealing an electronic vote counter. Mills was committed to prison for ten weeks and ordered to pay £150 compensation.

THOMAS MARK SMITHERS, 28, of Eastlands, New Milton. Pleaded guilty to assault. A community order was made, and Smithers was ordered to pay an £80 fine, with £85 costs.

KARIN ULRIKA TRAVERS, 44, of Welbeck Avenue, Portswood, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing bottles of whisky to the value of £48. Travers was fined £80, with £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

KRYSTOF DVORSKY, 38, of Perran Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Dvorsky was fined £60 with £20 victim surcharge and his driving record was endorsed with three points.

JORDAN FREDERICK BRUCE, 23, of Woodcote Road, Swaythling, Southampton. Admitted to breaching requirements of community order by failing to attend unpaid work. Bruce was ordered to pay £40 costs and the order to continue.

SCOTT KEVIN MOORE, 38, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to harassment and possession of a class A drug. Moore was committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months and a restraining order was made. He was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge with £50 costs.

MARGARET WARD, 47, of Conifer Road, Southampton. Found guilty of stealing items valued at £642 belonging to Asda Stores. Fined £120. Victim surcharge £30. Costs £ 300.

JONATHAN PERRY, 42, of Meon Crescent, Chandler’s Ford. Pleaded guilty to entering a building with intent to steal and failing to surrender at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court. Fined £80. Victim surcharge £30. Costs £40.

JASON PATRICK MCCARTHY, 44, of Shales Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and the offence was racially aggravated. Committed to prison for two weeks. Victim surcharge £115.

THOMAS JAMES MORAN, 29, of Carlton Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault. Community order made including rehabilitation activity requirement. Fined £50. Victim surcharge £85. Costs £85.

ADAM STEER, 27, of William McLeod Way, Millbrook, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order. Community order made including rehabilitation activity requirement. Fined £30. Victim surcharge £85. Costs £35.

ROBERT CLIFFORD CLARKE, 29, of Canute Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault. Community order made. Fined £50. Compensation £50. Victim surcharge £85. Costs £35.

TONY DAVID JENKINS, 37, of Tankerville Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Fined £70. Victim surcharge £30. Driving record endorsed with three points.

TINA JOHNSON, 48, of Burke Drive, Thornhill, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing toiletries worth £50.09 belonging to Boots, and also stole an electric toothbrush worth £69.99, also pleaded guilty to stealing toiletries and groceries worth £188.88 belonging Co-operative : Sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, surcharge £115.

DARREN SMITH, 22, of Thorney Hill, Bransgore, New Forest. Breached community order. Ordered to pay £30 costs and ordered to carry out an additional 30 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months.
