They're the giant molluscs decorating the city centre.
Now they are the inspiration behind a new performance piece.
As previously reported the six colourful snails outside West Quay measure 2.4 metres high and three metres long and are in the city as part of a global tour.
Now young actors from Mayflower Theatre’s musical youth group have created a show combining physical theatre, acting and dance in conjunction with Southampton Solent University performing students.
For the past five weeks the students and the youth theatre joined forces to create the show, which they performed to shoppers in the open air auditorium outside the new Westquay extension.
