IT has been almost two decades since Wheatus released their hit single, Teenage Dirtbag.

But they proved that they are still hugely popular after packing out Kashmir Cafe stage - leaving some fans missing out on the opportunity to see them.

Frontman Brendan B Brown said: "We felt really terrible it was so busy, people couldn't get in. We had a lot of upset fans tweeting us saying that they couldn't watch the performance.

"It means a lot that people still remember and still care. This is our first time at Isle of Wight Festival and we feel honoured to be here, considering the legacy of the artists like Jimi Hendrix performing here."

Earlier this month the American Rock Band performed at Winchester Guildhall.

“We absolutely loved the people of Winchester when we performed there last month.

"Everything is old in Winchester, we were shocked that they invited us to somewhere so beautiful. The crowd was fantastic.

"We have performed at The Talking Heads previously in Southampton and we really hope to come back as soon as we can,” said the lead singer.

The band are currently working on their seventh album.
