A SECURITY guard was taken to hospital after two people broke into a cricket club in the early hours.
Two people were seen fleeing the scene of a burglary at Hursley Cricket Pavilion, part of an IBM site, at about 4am this morning.
An IBM guard responded and suffered hand and arm injuries when challenging the pair, who are believed to have left the area on foot.
A statement from Hampshire police said: “The guard received hand/arm injuries and is being treated at Winchester Royal Hampshire County hospital.
"At this stage nothing has been reported stolen.
“Did you see or hear anything unusual overnight? Please contact us on 101 quoting reference 44170223809.”
The pavilion and cricket grounds is situated within the research and development IBM site in Hursley Park.
