A DAILY Echo Camera Club member has gained national exposure with her charming image of a tiny harvest mouse perched atop a dandylion clock.

Hayley Whalvin’s photo went on display in 56 camera stores across the UK after it was chosen as the second winner of Jessops’ #ShareYourSummer2017 competition.

Echo readers had already seen the image after it was used in our daily Caught on Camera feature.

To celebrate Hayley’s success we are featuring some more of her work from the Camera Club here.

The 43-year-old, from Southampton, said: “My love for photography started at a young age.

“As a child I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Ashby MBE – an English naturalist and wildlife cameraman.

“I felt inspired by his love of nature shown through the many creatures such as deer and foxes he rescued.

“I recently discovered a harvest mouse photography workshop run by Dean Mason in Wimborne and thought, ‘why not get up close to nature and be creative with my camera?’.”

Hayley will be invited to showcase her work at a celebration party at the end of the summer in central London, hosted by Sony when all Share Your Summer winners and finalists will have their photography displayed for industry representatives to admire.

On the night, one overall #ShareYourSummer2017 winner will also be officially announced, receiving £3,000 worth of Sony equipment plus £100 worth of Jessops photo vouchers.

There’s still time to enter. For further information about the competition visit jessops.com/shareyoursummer2017.

You can still join the club on Facebook to share your images by going to facebook.com/groups/decameraclub.

The club is open to photographers of all abilities.
