SALISBURY FC will enter this year’s FA in the preliminary round, which is on Saturday, August 19, with the draw taking place on July 7.
The Whites made it to the second qualifying round last season beating Bitton AFC, Frome Town before being knocked out by National League North side Gloucester City 2-1.
Former club Salisbury City had several good FA Cup runs, they were drawn at home against, then League One side Nottingham Forest in the third round in 2006/07 season and earned a reply courtesy of a Matt Tubbs goal which cancelled Nathan Tyson’s 27th minute goal, the Whites unfortunately went on to loss 2-0 in the away tie.
The Whites went one round better in the 2011/12 season after beating Swindon Supermarine, Poole Town, Bishop’s Stortford, Aresey Town and Grimsby Town to earn a place in the third round proper for the first time in the clubs history against then League One Sheffield United, but lost at Bramall Lane 3-1.
Salisbury FC will also be part in the FA Trophy which starts on Saturday, October 7 with the preliminary round.
The Whites got to the first round qualifying of the competition last season, having edged out Hereford in the preliminary round, and only narrowly lost 2-1 to Chippenham Town.
