A RAILWAY line between Southampton and Totton is closed due to safety fears.
Users are facing significant disruption to their journeys today after the track was shut for maintenance.
Engineers carried out a safety inspection of the track after a drivers reported a problem with the surface of the track, and the Weymouth-bound line is now blocked.
Disruption, including cancellations, delays or suspensions, are expected until 7.30pm.
A South West Trains statement says: "One of our drivers has reported a problem with the surface of the track between Southamtpon Central and Totton.
"Upon further inspection, a minor defect with the track was identified.
"Unfortunately, this defect has worsened, and as a result, the line is once again blocked.
"Engineers are on site and working to rectify the issue now.
"We are sorry for the disruption this afternoon."
