A HAMPSHIRE pensioner died following a fall, an inquest heard.

Edna Ricketts from Totton, New Forest, died of an brain injury at Southampton General Hospital.

Winchester Coroner’s Court heard how the 86-year-old, who lived at Bartley Avenue, was prone to falls and had the incident on the February 11 at her home.

However, she was not hospitalised and her daughter remained with her afterwards, and her mental state appeared to be fine.

The court the heard she had another fall, but with no obvious injuries the following day, this time she was taken to hospital in Southampton and a CT scan revealed that she had a large haemorrhage on her brain and she died on February 15.

Hampshire assistant coroner Sarah Whitby recorded a verdict of accidental death.
