Police have released a new CCTV image of a man who went missing from Southampton General Hospital earlier this week.

Concerns are growing for the health of Arkadijis Petrovs, who walked out of the high dependency unit at Southampton General Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, at around 4.30pm on Monday.

Officers have now released a new image after the 37-year-old was spotted in the Cash Converters store in Shirley Road, Shirley at around 9.45am on Tuesday.

Mr Petrovs was admitted to the hospital earlier this month, and was undergoing treatment for a serious medical condition.

He left the ward wearing green hospital pyjamas and carrying a blue rucksack.

Detective Inspector Stephen Spencer said: “Due to Mr Petrovs’ medical condition we know that he needs treatment and the longer he is missing the more urgent that need becomes.

“So far we have had a good response from the public from our previous appeal and as a result we have received several possible sightings of Mr Petrovs still in the Southampton area.

“We know he went into Cash Converters in Shirley on Tuesday morning and we have another sighting of him in the St Mary’s area at around 4.30pm where he was seen heading towards town.

“Have you seen him? He may not be wearing the hospital pyjamas anymore but he may appear disorientated or unsteady on his feet so please call us if you see anyone matching his description or anyone who appears unwell.

“It is vital that we find him and ensure he gets the medical attention he needs.”

Mr Petrovs is described as being white, of a medium build, around 5ft 9in tall, with black cropped hair and brown eyes.
