A MISSING Hampshire dog who became a minor celebrity on social media has been found seven days after went missing.

Buddy the Border Collie bolted when he was spooked by the noise from fireworks at a party in Lyndhurst on June 17.

On Saturday he was found near Blackwater car park near Brockenhurst.

Buddy is the family dog of the Olsen family who live in Totton.

He went missing during an outdoor party held to celebrate the 50th birthday party of Tanya Olsen at Allum Green in Lyndhurst.

His owners Tanya, her husband, Steve, and their grown-up children Mark and Stacey, put out missing notices on Facebook and there were several reported sightings of Buddy over the next few days.

On the night he ran off, Buddy was spotted running across the A35 and the following Tuesday he was seen at Puttles Bridge, near Brockenhurst.

Each day his owners have organised searches around Brockenhurst.

Stacey, 25, said: "People we don't even know turned up to help look for Buddy."

A Facebook page "Finding Buddy" attracted more than 400 likes.

On Saturday Stacey, Mark and Steve were cycling around the Blackwater area in search of Buddy when they found him in the undergrowth - none the worse for his ordeal apart from a few cuts and scratches.
