A RUNAWAY dog caused chaos on Winchester High Street.
A black greyhound, which was originally tied to a chair outside West Cornwall Pasty, got spooked and ran down the street and hurtled into an innocent bystander yesterday morning.
The greyhound was then seen hurtling down the High Street past Pret A Manger.
Immediately, Mr Collick, a Big Issue seller, and Thomas Harvey from West Cornwall Food Company attended to the injured man, who suffered a cut leg and bruises.
Mr Collick, who attempted to stop the dog as well, said: “It was running towards us with the chair and I could see the danger - a dog at that speed could take someone out."
Minutes later, two police officers were taking down details of the incident outside The Buttercross and were looking for the dog.
The dog has not yet been found, and the injured man refused for an ambulance to be called for him.
