A man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted by a gang.

Police say a blade may have been used in the attack after the 20-year-old was taken to St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight.

He was treated for cuts to his head after being attacked by three men, who wore hooded tops and had their faces covered, shortly after 3.50pm yesterday in Ashley Road, Ryde.

The man had been discharged with hospital, but police say enquiries are ongoing to find the three men.
