Drivers faced rush-hour gridlock in Southampton last night.
It is thought the delays were caused by out-of-action traffic lights and a broken down van.
Several readers contacted the Echo about the delays in the city centre.

The problem appeared to affect all major route in Southampton, but readers reported severe delays in the Northam area.
It was reported tha the traffic lights on Bitterne Road West/ Bullar Road were out of operation during rush hour and there wunconfirmed reports of a broken down van at the Bullar Road junction.
The lights have since been fixed and traffic is easing.
