A SOUTHAMPTON nursery has been broken into overnight.
Thieves broke into Little Explorers on Adanac Drive.
A statement on the company's social media page said: "Good morning - it is with much sadness I have to tell you we have been broken in to overnight.
"It was office based and the nursery is ok."
A spokesman said there was extensive damage to expensive sliding doors but wasn’t able to say exactly how much repairs would cost.
He added that the office of the full day-care nursery with pre-school, which looks after 90 children from 3 months to school age, had been targeted “in the assumption” that thieves were looking for cash.
He said: “We are still trying to work out the extent of what happened.”
The facility will not close while repairs are carried out.
Staff are advising parents to drive slowly into the car park, to use the foot path at the side of the building, and enter through the back gate.
