Have you ever been torn between the latest sporting event and being dragged around the shops with your significant other?

Perhaps you’ve missed the unmissable, and they didn’t have the shirt in your size anyway.

Now a new service, aimed at men, has been trialled in one of Southampton’s biggest shopping outlets.

Westquay, along with a select number of other shopping centres across the country, tested out Bro Pro, a new personal shopping experience.

The service has been targeted towards time-strapped male shoppers, and sees trained stylists or personal shoppers fitted with a GoPro camera, linked to the customer’s tablet or phone.

The shopper then goes through the centre, picking out options based on customer requirements and share advice.

Meanwhile, the shopper enjoys their free time catching up on the latest sporting action, or grabbing a bite to eat before collecting their latest purchases.

Andy Collyer, Westquay general manager, said: “With an exciting summer of sport upon us, Southampton’s male residents had no excuse to miss out on shopping trips as they faced the choice between the game or a garment.

“Bro Pro is an innovative service, which was temporarily trialled throughout June.”

According to Westquay, research showed that 95 per cent of men, compared to 91 per cent of women, prefer to shop in-store due to practicality and brand loyalty.

Westquay has confirmed it won't be rolling out the scheme after the trial ends.
