FestivALL cancelled 'due to terror attacks in Manchester and London'

The one-day festival at Mayflower Park on July 29 had been designed to bring in people of all ages and actis including Conor Maynard, The Hoosiers and Radio One DJ Scott Mills.

As well as musical entertainment there was also expected to be a comedy tent featuring the likes of Tom Deacon and Stewart Francis.

In a statement, Festival Organisers said: “It is with deep regret that we are announcing the cancellation of FestivALL.

“As supporters and friends, we wanted to make you aware prior to any publicity and take the opportunity to explain our decision, and extend our sincere thanks for your support to date.

“FestivALL is the result of two year’s committed work to change the view of family days out and bring something to our City we could all feel a sense of civic pride for. As two local business owners, the entire project was self-funded.

“Unfortunately, the events of the last 6 weeks could never have been forecast and the effect has been unprecedented.

“The terror attacks in Manchester and London have seen a significant reduction in ticket sales and the entertainment industry has felt the impact.

"For those events with a solid trading history, it’s a wave they can ride, for FestivALL as a first-time event the consequences are somewhat more significant.

“Last week, one of FestivALL’s directors was victim of a serious crime that for legal reasons cannot be disclosed entirely.

"The result of this crime was significant financial loss, much of which was funds for FestivALL.

“With sales already struggling, the impact of the crime in addition to the monetary loss, we have been left with no choice but to reluctantly cancel the event.

Organisers added that anybody that had purchased tickets online will receive a full refund within 14 days while anybody that has purchased tickets physically at Tapas Barcelona in Guildhall Square should return them there for a full refund.
