ROCK legend Bryan Adams will head to the home of Hampshire Cricket tonight as part of his Get Up World tour.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter becomes the first star to headline the Ageas Bowl since Rod Stewart announced his knighthood live on stage there a year ago.

The Southampton gig is the first time the multi-platinum award-winning recording artist has played live in the city since 2009 when he brought his well received solo acoustic tour to the Guildhall.

The rock giant has been touring across the globe with his most recently launched 13th studio album Get Up and will entertain the crowds with a string of new hits like You Belong to Me and Brand New Day), as well as classics from the back catalogue including Summer of 69, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Cuts Like a Knife and Run To You.

The latest offering from Bryan Adams, best known for the Robin Hood theme which remained at the top of the UK chart for more than four months, is produced by famed ELO frontman Jeff Lynne and co-written with his long-time collaborator Jim Vallance. The album features nine new songs and four acoustic versions.

It's a carefree album, which Adams says he wishes he'd been able to make 25 years ago.
