BASINGSTOKE and North Hants made their exit from the Southern League T20 Cup as they were beaten by visiting Premier top dogs Bashley.

Mitch Stokes won the toss and elected to bat and after losing David Griffiths for a duck, Dan Belcher (13) and Stokes (9) which included the only six of the innings, were then both out with the score on 28.

Bradley Neal (5) and Dean Nurse (0) departed in the space of two balls from Patrick Holly (6-27).

From here Basingstoke never recovered as Max Harsham (6), Chris Jolley (14) and George Metzger (5 not out) were the only other scores of note in an all out score of 74.

The Bountymen took early wickets as Bashley reached 24-2, but from there Neil Thurgood and Holly, who completed a great game as he scored an unbeaten 38.

The visitors winning by eight wickets with seven overs to spare.
