AN APPEAL hearing into a controversial plan to build 200 homes is under way.
Proposals to build a new housing development on fields off Bubb Lane, West End were put forward by applicant Gladman Developments Limited but were rejected in 2016 because of the impact that the development could have on the strategic gap between Hedge End and West End.
Now community figures, council bosses and applicant representatives will be presenting their arguments about the scheme at an appeal hearing that started yesterday at the Ageas Bowl and could finish next Wednesday.
Residents who want to have their say but cannot attend the public inquiry during the day can attend an evening session tomorrow at 7pm.
